Personal Physiotherapy Designed For You

Exercise forms a very important piece in the puzzle of wellness and health.

It's important to have an honest, caring, pragmatic physiotherapist who focuses on the positive. I aim to help and inspire people to move well and be well.

Jane The Physio offers a boutique home visiting physio service for those with neurological, age related and movement issues.

Tailored Physio Sessions in and around Wellington

Obtaining a therapist that will come to you in your home can sometimes be tricky. I will happily come to you, which offers the ability to see the environment you move in most often. This allows us to set the activities and / or exercises to suit the environment you have, which in turn means you are more likely to continue with your plan.  My in-home visit also offers you privacy and discretion.

Visits to workplaces, gyms, or anywhere that you feel will optimise your gains from our Physiotherapy sessions can also be arranged.

About Jane

I am a caring yet pragmatic physiotherapist who focuses on positive thinking. I aim to help and inspire people to move well and be well.

I love movement and see exercise as one of the most exciting medicines available to us.

After a number of years in a hospital environment in a variety of inpatient, rehabilitation and community-based physio roles, I set up my own Physiotherapy Service. This was initially to offer people with Parkinson’s the LSVT BIG course which at the time was unavailable elsewhere. It has developed into a boutique home visiting Physio service for those with neurological, age related and movement issues.

I am passionate about helping people overcome physical issues and I have a genuine love of my work. Assisting people and helping them succeed is so rewarding. Many people may think they simply cannot do some things any longer, and it fabulous to help them realise that they can overcome these barriers.

LSVT BIG

LSVT BIG is an exercise based treatment philosophy that grew out of LSVT LOUD, a programme to teach people with Parkinson’s to speak more loudly. It began in the early 1990’s and named after Mrs Lee Silverman. LSVT BIG was developed by physiotherapist, Becky Farley PhD.

The large repetitive movements help people with Parkinson's to walk with an upright posture and large stride length. Patients are taught to move “big”, encouraging good range of motion with maximal effort, in an attempt to “reset” their movement size.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy, or physio, is science-based healthcare that takes a holistic approach to wellbeing.

Jane works with her clients to ensure that they feel involved, aware and empowered in their own success. Being involved and consulted on your own needs is vital.

Physiotherapy is beneficial to all at any time of life, regardless of physical ability. No matter your age, regular physio can help with a number of short and long term conditions.
